Wakat Meephams continued to held at different parts of the State in condemnation of the August 16 hand grenade attack at the Mani Mandir of ISKCON on August 16 that killed five people and injured many.
Mani Mandir of ISKCON where a large number of people had gathered to celebrate the Krishna Janmasthami.
Five persons were killed while several others wounded in the bomb attack.
Inside the campus of Christ Jyoti School at Mantripukhri, where Master Angom Blondin, one of the victims has studied, the students came out of their classes and staged a Wakat Meepham.
Similar protest demonstration were also staged at Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai, Ahanthem leikai, Palace Compound near CVTC Office and Wangkhei Keithel Ashangbi.
Members of Thongak Lairembi Masaikol Shemgat Sagat Nupee Lup, Langol Game Village, Wangdei Meetei Leikai and students of HIM Public School and Maria Montesori School also jointly staged Wakat Meepham to protest attack at religious places.
At Bishnupur Bazar, all the shops downed their shutters and a Wakat Meepham was organised jointly by Bishnupur District Apunba Lup and Bishnupur Bazar Chaokhat Lup in condemnation of the bloody attack.
The protestors used placards with wordings like 'We condemn ISKCON bombing', 'Stop attacking religious places', 'Stop act of terrorism', etc during the demonstration even as many speakers came out strongly against the such senseless killing.
Members of Heinoupok Women Welfare Association and Nupi Meira Marup also staged Wakat Meephams at their respective sheds today and demanding punishment of all those who were responsible for the bombing.
On the other hand, there has been no let up to the condemnation messages being send in to the press by various organisations in connection with the bomb attack at ISKCON.
In separate statements, Lairenkabi Youth Dramatic Union ( Imphal West), Mayai Lambi Sports Organisation (Heirangoithong), Kangabam Leikai Apunba Nupi Marup, Juvenile Leaders' Club (Wangkhei Tokpam Leikai), Jananeta Irabot Memorial Trust (Nambol), College of Music and Performing Arts (Nambol), Writers' Forum (Imphal), Khunai Kanba Apunba Meira Paibi Lup (Thoubal), Organisation for a Better Society ( Western Palace Compound), Shree Shree Bijoygovinda, Sevayet Committee (Sagolband), Konjeng Hazari Leikai Nisha Bandh and Women Welfare Assn, Oriental Leveller Assn (Wangkhei-Kongba), Laitonjam Chaokhat Thourang and Nisha Bandh Meira Paibi Lup (Nambol) and UCM Kairang Unit have also come out strongly against the bombing attack at ISKCON killing five persons and injuring scores of others.
