Imphal, April 19: Intensifying its campaign against the upcoming 14 th Lok Sabha elections, suspected UGs set ablaze polling material of two polling stations today.

According to reports received from the Election Control Room, suspected UGs forcibly entered two polling stations located under Waikhong PS at around 4 pm and burnt the polling material while the polling personnel were arranging the material.

No security personnel were present during the time of the incident, added the report.

The two polling stations are 38/22 Tokpaching Primary School and 38/23 Sarik Konjil LP School.

Meanwhile, an official source while informing that security forces have been rushed to the two polling stations after the incident and added that new polling material along with additional security forces would be sent to the two polling stations tomorrow morning.

In another incident today, well armed UGs attacked a BSF patrol party on election duty near Tulaphai under Churachandpur dist this evening at around 4.20 leaving one dead and injuring three other personnel.

The deceased BSF constable has been identified as Ashok Kumar (24) of UP.
