Imphal, March 18: Coming out strongly against the killings of migrant workers in the last 48 hours, Chief Minister O Ibobi today assured the people that exemplary action will be taken up against the killers.

Addressing a media conference today, the Chief Minister said that to ensure safely and security of the migrant workers and petty businessmen, all the Superintendents of Police have been instructed to tighten security measures.

"We have some clues about the attacks and we will announce the group responsible for it", the Chief Minister assured.

Strongly condemning the killings, the Chief Minister said it was nothing short of barbaric.

Fitting reply will be given to the killers, he asserted.

Significantly the Chief Minister also holds the Home portfolio.

Action will also be taken up against sympathisers of militants and any other banned groups, the Chief Minister announced, striking a tough pose.

On the action taken up by the State Government so far, the Chief Minister said that search operations are being conducted besides intensifying frisking exercises.

He however admitted that no arrest has been effected so far in connection with the killings.

Conveying the message that he means business, the Chief Minister said that all the SPs have been issued strict instructions to provide security and safety to the migrant workers.

Any lapses will not be tolerated, he said and added in case of any negligence of duty, no police officers, including the SPs would be spared.
