Peace rally planned at border town

Moreh, June 21: In the backdrop of the recent violent incidents which claimed 11 lives and created some sort of misunderstanding among the people, specially the Meiteis and the Kukis, all community leaders of the border town plan to take out a peace rally on June 25 to reaffirm the aged old tradition of peaceful co-existence among all the people.

A decision to this effect was arrived at during a joint meeting attended by the leaders of All Community Moreh at the Hawa Mahal of Moreh Police Station today morning.

ADC Moreh T Hopeson Chothe, SP Chandel Bimolchandra Sharma, SDPO Moreh Hasna Jaman, CO of 4 IRB Laksmi Prasad, CO of Moreh PS W Nongyai and representatives of MCM, HTC, Tamil Sangam, Manipuri Muslim Council, Moreh were also present in the meeting.

During the proposed peace rally, leaders of All Community Moreh would visit every households in and around Moreh requesting the people to start living a normal life as peace has been restored in the border town and spread the message that the recent unfortunate violent incidents was because of any misunderstanding among the people but among the UG groups.
