Imphal, January 25: Roundly writing off prospects of the Congress, MPP leader Th Chaoba today predicted that none of the Congress candidates, including the MPCC (I) president will be elected from the hill districts and added with good measure that Congress would be uprooted from six Assembly segments of Bishnupur district.

Addressing an election meeting at Irengband Awang Mamang Leikai in Oinam AC today, the former Union Minister said the fact that Congress candidates in the hill districts filed their nomination papers at Imphal is a clear indication of the state of the party in the hill districts.

Asserting that the upcoming election is the most crucial polls for Manipur, Chaoba said voters should judiciously exercise their voting rights to elect only those who can assure the territorial sanctity of the State.

Training his guns on the Congress led SPF Government, Chaoba said Congress is synonymous with corruption and the SPF Govt has not been able to deal with the law and order situation.

Earlier flag of the MPP was hoisted to kick start the campaign of its candidate Dr Irengbam Ibohanbi.
