Imphal, October 15: All Manipur Student Union (AMSU) has strongly condemned the State's Government decision to close down all educational institutions in the State on October 16 and 17.Talking to mediapersons this evening at the AMSU HQ, the general secretary of the student body, Jotin Salam contended that the agitations undertaken by various organizations under the guidance of UCM for safe guarding the State's territorial integrity have been conducted in a democratic manner so that the academic atmosphere is not disturbed.

The decision of the Government is totally against the interest of the student community and should be condemned by one and all said Jotin adding that the Government's decision will fuel the already charged atmosphere in the State.

Asserting that the Govt's decision to close down schools on October 16 and 17 is irrational and lacks logic, he warned that AMSU would take up various forms of agitation if the Govt does not revoke its decision immediately.

The meeting was also attended by former AMSU general secretary Ch Chidananda.
