Imphal, August 19: Indian Solidarity Committee (ISC), Manipur Chapter has complained against alleged denial of rights to information to the people.

Not disclosing the outcome and progress of the peace talks being held between Govt of India and the NSCN (I-M) for the last 8 years as well as what was transpired in the July 15 talks between the State CM and Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil amounts to denial of rights to information of the people, observed ISC joint secretary.

Addressing a press conference at Manipur Press Club here today, ISC joint secretary Y Priyokumar said the people, not only of Manipur but also of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh have the right to know on the issue of Greater Nagaland.

Denial of such vital information has led to the present crisis, he said, while recalling the remarks made by Lok Sabha MP Ramji Lal in this regard while raising a calling attention motion on the problem of Manipur on August 4.Decrying National media for not giving" due importance to issues related to Manipur, he lamented that the remarks made by MP RL Suman on providing Indian Passport to NSCN (I-M) leader T Muivah who was earlier having a Pakistani passport while BJP leader LK Advani was the Union Home Minister and Manipur CM's observation that more camps of the secessionist elements have been come up in Manipur find no place either in State or National media.
