Imphal, April 22: First phase repoll in 12 polling stations, including three in Thoubal district for the Outer .Manipur Parliamentary constituency ended peacefully today evening even as number of repoll for the second phase have been increased by six more to 123.The overall poll percentage in the first phase repoll conducted today reached 86.26 percent.

Amid tight security arrangements, following widespread incidents of EVMs capture and destruction of poll material on April 20, repolls were conducted in Thoubal, Churachandpur and Chandel districts as well as in Kangpokpi sub-division.

In Thoubal district repolls were conducted at Wabagai (C-2), Sora (A) and Tangjeng Khunjao polling stations.

Polling stations in Chandel district recorded the highest poll percentage at 96.07 while Kangpokpi sub-division pipped Churachandpur polling with 92.01 percent against the latter's 90.07.Compared to first day's poll figure of 30 percent Thoubal today recorded a significant increase at 54.02 percent.

Meanwhile, the six polling stations where repoll has been ordered are Oinam in Karong Assembly Constituency, Kalinamei and Laii in Mao while Tadubi will go for repoll in three polling stations - Chakumai, Willong Khullen and Kotlen.

Although poll was held peacefully in these polling stations State election authorities detected number of votes cast more than that of the stipulated electorates.
