Manipur Science & Technology Council (MASTEC) is an Autonomous Apex Advisory Body of the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of Manipur. MASTEC has a mandate of promoting science and bringing appropriate technologies to the state for socio-economic applications. Since the year 1997, MASTEC has been a State Level Science Festival under the banner of Science Meet.

The Festival is funded by the National Council for Science & Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. The 5-day Festival aims at creating a platform for science students, scientists and science loving lay public to meet, interact and share knowledge about various aspects of science technology. The Festival is a multi-activity and multi-agency programme wherein several competitions, exhibitions, talks, audio-visual shows etc. are featured. This year too, Science Meet 2002 is being organised by MASTEC is coordination with the leading science NGOs of the state like Science Teachers� Forum, Manipur (STFM), Manipur Association for Science & Society (MASS), Manipur Association for the Promotion of Science (MAPS) and Manipur Science Communicators� Association (MASCA) during May 11-15, 2002 at Manipur Kangshang, Khuman Lampak Stadium Complex, Imphal.

Citations with attractive prizes will be awarded to the winners of the competitions viz., quiz, painting, declamation, model competition, best appreciation award for SM-2002 has also been kept for the student who visits the meet with the best level of understanding and learning. Individuals/firms/institutions are welcomed to sponsor the various prizes.

1. First Prize	- Rs.3,000/-
2. Second Prize	- Rs.2,000/-
3. Third Prize	- Rs.1,500/-

1. First Prize	- Rs.2,000/-
2. Second Prize	- Rs.1,500/-
3. Third Prize	- Rs.1,000/-
4. Consolation(2 Nos.)	- @ Rs. 500/-

1. First Prize	- Rs.1,500/-
