Brief Report on the distribution of Humanitarian aid

With regard to the 14th Foundation day of Human Rights Initiative, Manipur that was held on 9/8/2022, HRI have selected some prominent and well-known Meira Paibis leaders of Manipur who were working at both state and district level and at the moment they have been inactive stipulation due to their respective health and personal problems.

The reason why we are bringing them to mind is to be endowed/awarded with a sum of Rs. 3000/- per head as a token gift for the remembrance of their past outstanding and vigorous service of the state in the field of anti drug and human rights issues.

On two days consecutively i.e 2/9/2022 and 3/9/2022, a team of HRI went to the following residences of selected Meira paibis and provided the said gifts to them accordingly:

o Keisham Taruni Devi (85) wife of Lalabi Singh of Top Khongnangkhong, Imphal East District. She was the founder President of Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohal (CADA: 2006-2012) & also the former President, Nupi Samaj (2013-2017).

o Chongtham Nupimacha Devi (71) wife of (L) Bangka Singh of Tera Amudon Akham Leikai, Imphal West and she was the founder President, Tammi Chingmi (1997-2000).

o Ngangom Manjuri Devi (73) wife of Nabachandra Singh of Takyel Khongban Khumanthem Leikai, Imphal West and she was the founder of General Secretary, Tammi Chingmi (1997-2004).

o Moirangthem Guni Devi (66) wife of Moirangthem Bheigya Singh of Leirongthel Makha Leikai, Thoubal under Heirok AC and she was the former Member of the Thoubal District United Women's Development Organisation (Thoubal Ima) from 2006 to 2012.

o Thongam Chandrasakhi Devi (91) wife of Late Th. Kulachandra Singh of Nagamapal Shingjubung Leirak, Imphal West and she was the former Member, NUPI SAMAJ.

o Moiranghtem (O) Maniyai Devi (88) wife of M. Kulachandra Singh of Kumbi Setapur Mayai Leikai, Bishnupur and she was the former Member, NUPI SAMAJ.

o Phuritsabam Memma Singh (78) w/o Ph. Ibobi Singh of Kanto Sabal Keingam, Imphal West and she was the founder Member, NUPI SAMAJ.
