As part of Friendship Day celebration on Aug 2 2009, a Football match was played between Manipuri students in Delhi and Manipuris studying/working outside the country at Police Ground (popularly known for the yearly Thabal Chongba festival!)
Friendship Day celebrations take place on the first Sunday of August every year.
