Sports competitions are an integral part of the Yaoshang festival and are held in almost all the localities across the valley areas of Manipur.
On March 15, 2025, Tarun Vijay, former Rajya Sabha MP and former chairman of the National Monuments Authority came to witness the football matches at the "38th Annual Yaoshang Sports Meet 2025" of Young United Club, Kwakeithel Moirang Purel Leikai.
