Members of various women groups staged a sit-in protest at Kanglatongbi Keithel on May 14 2026 demanding immediate and unconditional release of 18 hostages (Naga civilians) allegedly taken by Kuki militants from Leilon Vaiphei village
Organised by Koubrou Range Liangmai Women's Union, demonstrators held placards and raised slogans demanding urgent intervention from both the Central and State Governments to secure safe release of all hostages.
