One of India's most respected Theatre Directors and playwrights Ratan Thiyam passed away on 23rd July 2025 at Regional Institute of Medical Science (RIMS).
The mortal remains of Ratan Thiyam was brought to his ancestral residence at Uripok Haobam Dewan Leikai early morning and then to The Shrine playhouse of the Chorus Repertory Theatre complex at Shamushang Uku after religious rituals at his residence, Lamboikhongnangkhong, where family members, relatives, artists, academicians, and theatre enthusiasts gathered to pay their respects, offering floral tributes to his remains
