Manipur Earthquake : Indian Air Force assists in Imphal rescue operation On 04 January 2016

On 04 Jan 16, a powerful earthquake measuring approx 6.8 on the Richter scale hit Manipur and adjoining areas of the North-Eastern sector. Indian Air Force immediately activated.
The Eastern Air command was tasked by Air HQ to airlift the NDRF team from Guwahati.
Accordingly, one Avro aircraft transported 14 NDRF personnel & 02 tons of load while an AN 32 aircraft carried 49 NDRF personnel along with 1.3 tons of load.
