A destroyed engine expected to be of World War II era was discovered by some enthusiastic team consisting of members from Kounu Lairembi Thougal Lup, Senjam Chirang Youth Club, The Kumari's Woodstalk school, Mongsangei from Kounu mountain range under Konsakhul , Sadar Hills, Senapati district on December 29 evening 2013.
The team of 2nd World War Imphal Campaign Foundation inspected the radial engine on 2nd January 2014. They have taken the specifications for their further research on the make and the type of airplane the engine was expected to have used. As per their preliminary observation, the Radial Engine with 14 cylinder might be a model by Pratt & Whitney Company, Twin wasp (R-1830) S1C3-G engine.
