A Nationwide Save Sangai Campaign organised at Marina Beach, Chennai on 29th June 2008. The campaign was organised by "For a better Manipur, Northeast India Biodiversity" and "Northeast Centre for Environmental Education and Research, Imphal". The campaign was participated by more than 100 volunteers who distrbuted pamphlets and create awareness about the Sangai and present threats. Read about this announcement here.
