Imphal, August 07 2009:
The three women who were arrested by the police while coming to lodge a complaint over the July 23 fake encounter have been remanded to judicial custody.
According to information received by the press, the three women identified as Lourembam Nganbi (60) of Bishnupur Bazar, Phanjoubam Sakhi (7) of Wangkhei and Yumlembam Mema of Wangkhei Yonglan Leirak were picked up by the City police from in front of Raj Bhavan on August 4 and were produced before the judicial magistrate of Imphal on August 5 .
At the complaint of the prosecutor, the court granted permission for remanding the arrested trio to judicial custody.
The arrested trio are said to be members of the
Apunba Lup.
