Imphal, August 05 2009:
In a show of courage and bravery, an 18 year old boy saved a 48 year old man from drowning in Chiengkawn River in Churachandpur.
The unprecedented rise of Chiengkawn River that flows in the heart of Churachandpur drowned a man Khamkhotong (48), chief of Neihlien village around 4.30pm on August 3 last.
After the furious current carried the man for a stretch of a kilometer, a lad identified as Johnson Gangte (18) of L Phainuom village, in a show of sheer courage, daringly saved the helpless man.
