Imphal, August 08 2009: Lepaona Naga Union condemned torching of a bulldozer and an excavator on July 25 by unknown miscreants at Besho of Senapati district.

The machines were engaged in the construction of road from Besho to Phek district of Nagaland under Union Government sanctioned inter-State road connectivity programme.

A press release issued by its president Nanii RS Hillar said that Lepaona people were jubilant with the commencement of construction of the road as the interior parts of the district where Poumai tribes are residing remain unconnected for the past many years.

Lepaona Naga Union while urging the concerned authority to book the culprits warned that the union would not remain silent if the demand is not fulfilled.
