Shillong, March 07 2009:
Thongam Naoba and T Rakesh, who allegedly escaped from their kidnappers were handed over to their brothers and the Manipur police today.
Police said that the two children in their early teens were abducted from Manipur on Wednesday and on Thursday but they managed to escape while the kidnappers were busy in refueling at a petrol pump in Shillong.
Meanwhile, Meghalaya police are also conducting operations to trace the kidnappers.
Though many cadres of Manipur based militants had been arrested in Meghalaya during the last one year, police said that the militants still hide in Shillong and elsewhere in Meghalaya.
