Imphal, August 12 2009:
The second rounds of talks between the striking transporters and government failed today.With this , the chakka bandh along the highways called by the transporters are going on, said a joint statement of the striking All Manipur Inter-State Bus Association, Manipur Drivers Welfare Association, Imphal-Silcher Raod Transport Welfare Society and All Manipur Patroleum Tankers Drivers' Union.
The chakka bandh on the national highways started from August 4 last.
Chief Minister, O Ibobi held first round of talks with the representatives of the striking bodies on August 9 and the second round of talk held today but no amicable solution came out during the talked, the statement added.
