Imphal, November 10 2009:
Four Tata-Sumo vehicles heading toward Moreh from Imphal have been hijacked and detained for hours by strike supporters at Thamnapokpi today for allegedly violating the strike in Chandel district sponsored by the JAC demanding the removal of CEO of ADC, Chandel.
According to a report, the four Tata-Sumo vehicles fully loaded with passengers were hijacked around 9.20 am today.
The vehicles, however, have been released this afternoon without any harm.
The general strike has been called by the JAC on recruitment of Primary teachers under ADC, Chandel demanding the replacement of incumbent CEO of ADC, Chandel.
