Mob lynches two NDFB militants

Guwahati, August 08 2009: Two NDFB militants were lynched while two NSCN cadre were nabbed and two powerful IEDs seized in separate incidents in Assam today.

Two National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB) militants were lynched by a crowd when they tried to kidnap a person at the Hugraguly weekly market at around 7.30 pm in Sonitpur district, police sources said.

In another incident at Dharkota village in Kokrajhar district, two NSCN militants were arrested by police.

Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police P K Dutta said the arrested militants had links with NDFB and ULFA and had come to the district for subversive activities in the run up to the I-Day celebrations.

In yet another incident, two powerful IED weighing nearly 8kg were seized by police from Howriped in Kokrajhar district.

Two persons have been arrested in this connection.
