Imphal, August 08 2009: Troops 17 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) organized a drawing competition in connection with Independence Day celebration for students of Ukhrul COB on August 6 with the theme "Unity and Peace for a stronger India," an IGAR (S) release stated.

Forty-eight students of different age groups and classes including school staff from Assam Rifles School Somsai, Savio School, John Bosco, Maringigmi Memorial School, Little Angels, Blesso Montessori and Sacred Heart have participated in the drawing competition, it stated.

Prizes were distributed to Blesso Montessori School and Savio School for securing the first and second positions respectively.

The Principal and school staff of the all the schools thanked 17 Assam Rifles for organizing an interesting, competitive and an educative drawing competition for the school students which benefitted one and all, the AR release added.
