Imphal, February 19 2009: A three day wari liba festival organized by the All Manipur Wari-liba Association and Research Centre kicked off here at its office at Khurai Soibam Leikai today.

The opening function of the festival collided with the concluding function of the workshop on wari-liba which commenced from December 25 last year.

The function was graced by the president of the Manipur Film Journalists and Critic Association, RK Bidur, president of the Soibam Leikai Merry Leirak Thousil Lup, Gurumayum Kendrajit as guest of honour while vice president of the All Manipur Wari Liba Association and Research Centre Salam Esheihanba presided the function.

The festival is participating by 50 story tellers coming from various parts of the including one woman and another man from Chashar district of Assam.

The function was marked by discussion on the Wari-liba between the experts in the field and story tellers.
