Army saves snake bite victim

Imphal, August 09 2010:
Life saving treatment was provided by 73 Mountain Brigade under the aegis of the Red Shield Division to a victim of snake bite today.
The victim, Gardung, (43) son of Meigong, resident of Ngariyan village of Bishnupur District was working in the paddy fields when he was bitten by a poisonous snake on the left foot.
The patient presented symptoms of swelling in the left foot.
He was referred to the Brigade Advance Dressing Station by District Hospital Bishnupur where he was given life saving treatment including anti snake venom by the Medical Officer, Capt (Dr) Sunil Kumar, a press release from PIB (DW) informed.
