Based on specific information about KYKL cadre procuring motor cycles in Moreh for further transhipment and utilisation by their cadres in Tamu, troops of 31 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) launched operation in general area of Moreh today, according to a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
During the operation, at around 7 am, two persons tried to flee with one bike from a workshop.
On being challenged, the two individuals left the bike and started running towards Myanmar.
However, the troops intercepted the fleeing individuals.
On interrogation, it was revealed that the two individuals are active cadres of KYKL and had come with an aim to take the bike to Tamu, the PRO said, while identifying the two arrested cadres as No.1631 SS Cpl Chatar Singh (46) s/o Gopal Singh of Kwatha, Moreh and No.1839 SS Pvt Sanuyaima (19) s/o SS Cpl Chatar Singh.
One Yamaha Enticer bike and one RC book have been recovered from the apprehendees, who have been subsequently handed over to Imphal West PS along with the recovered items.
