Imphal, March 07 2011:
The proscribed RPF has greeted the womenfolk of Manipur on the occasion of the International Women's Day.
The International Women's Day may enable the Manipuri to make greater strides politically, economically and socially, the outfit conveyed in a press release issued by its Publicity Secretary T Leisemba.
Manipuri women need to analyse all the obstacles and difficulties they have been facing with a political perspective.
It is crucial to make a clear distinction between friends and foes.
Noting that there have been numerous incidents of violence and discrimination against women in the Manipuri society, the outfit asserted that security forces coming from outside the State and non-local people have been constantly targeting Manipuri women.
The outfit further called upon the womenfolk to launch mass movements so that definite rules and regulations are enacted for implementation at work places.
This would be a meaningful way of observing the International Women's Day, it asserted.
It also acknowledged the responsibilities and movements undertaken by Manipuri women at times of different issues in the past as well as the contemporary period.
Manipuri womenfolk are also playing crucial roles in economic and social sectors.
The outfit further proposed that people should join hands and struggle collectively to ensure that Manipuri women enjoy all the rights entitled to them.
