Imphal, March 07:
Launching a strong offensive against the UNLF, KCP (MC) in a statement yesterday said that the culture of factionalism was in fact started by the UNLF and no one else.
The statement, issued by its secretary military affairs, Lanheiba Meitei said that the trend of factionalism started after pioneering figure Hijam Irabot passed away on November 24, 1964 and recalled how Oinam Sudhirkumar broke away from the UNLF and formed the Revolutionary Government of Manipur in 1968. KCP (MC) also questioned why the UNLF did not join the Revolutionary Joint Committee that was formed in 1991 by the PLA, PREPAK and KCP and added that if the UNLF is truly sincere about forging a united stand against the common enemy it should have encouraged such unity move.
UNLF never announced that it was involved in the killing of the three cadres of KCP (MC) and it was only after a painful investigation that the Council came to know that UNLF was behind the killing.
Why did the UNLF fail to announce its hand in the killing, countered the statement.
When Oken, the present general secretary of the KYKL broke away from the UNLF in 1988 to bifurcate the UNLF into UNLF (Meghen) and UNLF (Oken), the Meghen group dubbed him as an army collaborator, a reactionary and even accused him of polygamy.
In return, Oken also dubbed the Meghen group as terrorists and mafia, alleged KCP (MC).
In the race for supremacy many innocent people lost their lives, said the statement and asserted that it has launched the 'total punish' against the UNLF because it is against the ideology of the UNLF that it will eliminate all smaller parties.
Such an ideology is anti-revolutionary, it claimed.
The KCP (MC) will never target innocent people, but will not spare anyone who is against the outfit, asserted Lanheiba Meitei.
On the charge that the KCP (MC) has links with the security forces, Lanheiba claimed that on January 28 this year, the outfit had produced Laishram Ranjit alias Lalngakpa before the media persons and announced his expulsion from the party because he had misused funds as well as for maintaining links with the 19 Assam Rifles.
Moreover the Council has also been targeting one Laisrham Samu alias Mangoljao for tying up with the security forces and posing as the president, C-in-C and chairman of the KCP (MC).
Samu was never associated with the KCP, it alleged further.
KCP (MC) is also very particular about the accounts of the financial transactions, it claimed and explained that an audit exercise is taken up once in every three months.
The financial aspect of the outfit is looked after by a three member Central Finance Core Body.
Levelling a series of charges against L Samu, the statement said that he intimated a message to the KCP (MC) to join the outfit, but the request was rejected, keeping in mind the future of the Council.
