An executive committee meeting of All Manipur District Council Teachers' Association held at Council Hall, Chingmeirong here today has taken serious note over the inordinate delayed in completion of the Manipur Government Employees' List (MGEL) with respect to the employees of the six Hill District Councils in the State.
According to a statement of the Association signed jointly by its president Wichong Pamei and general secretary Tual Khanlal, the meeting expressed unhappiness over the negligence of the six Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of the ADCs towards completing the preparation of MGEL since 2008 and lack of transparency in the process thereby depriving the employees of the monthly salary from June to October, 2009 inspite of the Government order on releasing the salary upto the month of October, 2009 on the occasion of Ningol Chakkouba festival.
While demanding completion of the MGEL list and payment of the pending monthly salaries immediately, decision was also taken that matter related to the pension benefit scheme vide Manipur Gazette, Extraordinary notification dated Imphal, the 19th August 2006 and the 22nd August 2006 respectively would be brought to the notice of the Gauhati High Court in the interest of the employees working under the six Hill district Councils, the statement informed.
