Imphal, November 09 2011:
Whatever the State Government has been doing is for welfare of all the people of Manipur.
The State Government never worked by challenging any community or organisation.
This was stated by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi at the reception function of the newly elected 10 ADC Members at Sangakpham ADC complex where he was the chief guest.
The function was also attended by MP Thangso Baite, YAS Minister DD Thaisii, IFC Minister N Biren, ex-MLA Victor Keishing and ADC Chairmen.
Ibobi stated that with election of the ten remaining ADC Members, the ADCs would be able to work in a more complete manner henceforth.
The State Government's inability to work directly with the people of hill districts regarding development and welfare programmes will now be history as the elected ADC Members would have the advantage to work directly with the people.

Stating that the Government has been working to finish each and every project/scheme being executed in the hills and valley of Manipur, Ibobi iterated that it would be advisable to consider in advance what package(s) can be sought for ADCs from the Centre when Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi visit the State.
Claiming that the State Government has been making all efforts to provide adequate security to ADC Members, Ibobi clarified that the Government never worked by challenging any community or organisation.
As for non-enforcement of Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reforms Act, it is largely driven by the notion that 'outsiders' would swarm hill areas if the same Act is enforced.
Nonetheless, there would come a time when any citizen of Manipur can settle in any part of the State, Ibobi stated.
The ADC Members who were felicitated today included eight from Senapati district and two from Ukhrul district.
