Imphal, December 16: Following the refusal to continue nose feeding Irom Chanu Sharmila collapsed this afternoon inside the toilet of AIIMS, New Delhi where she is being confined.

The Manipuri Students Association of Chandigarh staged a rally to support her cause today.

'At around 1.30 pm, she experienced sudden health break down and collapsed in the toilet', Irom Singhajit, brother of Sharmila informed when contacted by The Sangai Express.

Some lady police personnel and nurses who noticed the incident brought her to the bed and later she regained consciousness, Singhajit, who is currently at Delhi said.

Sharmila has been refusing the nasal feeding given to her since December 14 after the Delhi Police did not allow her to leave AIIMS despite issuing discharge certificate by the hospital authorities.

AIIMS authorities issued yet a fresh discharge certificate today but the Delhi Police prevented my sister from moving out, Singhajit lamented.
