Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has advised all aspiring teachers and those seeking employment in Education Department not to indulge in bribery while seeking employment in the department.
Speaking at the inaugural function of an induction training programme for Graduate teachers who were recruited recently in the indoor hall of National Sports Academy, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex today, Ibobi cautioned that whatever amount offered to bribe officials or Ministers to get employment in Education Department would go waste.
The function was also attended by Education (S) Principal Secretary Suresh Babu, RMSA State Project Director Sumant Singh, Education (S) Director W Rajen and SCERT Director N Debala.
Ibobi stated that the SPF Government has been paying special attention to Education sector in view of its paramount importance for the society to make progressive strides.
The Government has been working hard to cleanse the Education Department from all the mess and recruitment irregularities in which the department was embroiled.
Categorically stating that indulging in bribery to get employment in Education Department would serve no purpose, the Chief Minister sought people's cooperation in the Government's efforts to streamline education system in Manipur.
Starting from the marks secured in TET, the Government has been working to initiate recruitment process of teachers based on academic achievements of the candidates.
The disturbing trend of setting up private schools with the sole motive of earning big money demands a serious analysis, Ibobi stated.
He also underscored the indispensable role of teachers in grooming and shaping the future of children, apart from their parents.
