Imphal, September 27 2010:
A day after four KCP cadres who came to threaten the Pradhan of Moirangkampu Gram Panchayat were rounded up and handed over to the police by the villagers, two cadres of KCP Lamyanba Khuman have been arrested from different parts and five Chinese hand grenades were recovered today during a joint operation launched by Imphal East Police Commandos and 28 Assam Rifles.
The arrested cadres have been identified as Hemam Boicha alias Boy (25) s/o late Binoy of Moirang Khoiru Leikai but running a mobile serving centre, AD Mobile Service Centre at Uripok and Mutum Kiranmala (35) d/o Sushil of Khongjom Laibung Leikai.

Parading the arrested cadres and the recovered bombs before mediapersons at the complex of Imphal East District Police Headquarters here, Additional SP (Ops) of Imphal East District Police M Rajen informed that the two cadres were arrested and five Chinese hand grenades were recovered from their possession during the joint operation which was launched subsequent to the interrogation of the four cadres handed over to the police after being rounded up by villagers of Moirangkampu yesterday.
The combined team managed to arrest Hemam Boinao alias Boy from western side of Kongpal Iranpham under Porompat police at 8.30 am today.
Three Chinese hand grenades along with detonators fitted inside LED table lamps were recovered from the possession of Boinao.
At the instance of Boinao, Mutum Ongbi Kiranmala of Khongjom Laibung Leikai was also apprehended at around 10.30 am and search of her residence led to the recovering of two more Chinese hand grenades fitted inside similar LED Table lamps which are brought from Moreh.
The police officer further conveyed that it has been established that the bomb which was recovered from the possession of the four cadres rounded up by the villagers at the residence of the Pradhan yesterday had been provided by Boinao.
All the arrested individuals are member of KCP-Lamyanba Khuman group, Additional SP (OPs) M Rajen said.
Recalling an earlier instance in which bombs were found fitted inside fish can last year, the police officer also cautioned the public to remain alert against any suspicious objects.
