Imphal, July 25 2010:
The Volunteer for Manipur, organised a mega event consisting of an Interactive Awareness programme, Painting, Poster and Essay Competition as part of its ongoing campaign "Save Nambul Naga River Campaign".
It was held at Bal Bhavan, Khuman Lampak.
The topic for the Painting Competition was 'Rivers and its surroundings".
Th.Babesana, class III of Shishu Nishtha Niketan, Ch.
Prineeka Chanu of class III, Manipur Public School and RK Tushalsana, class III of Shishu Nishtha Niketan bagged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize respectively.
The topic for Poster competition was "Save Nambul Naga River".

Asem Indrajit, class VIII of Brilliant High School, Sanatomba Moirangthem, class VI of Bal Vidya Mandir and R.K Bushila Karta, Class VII of Little Flower School bagged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize respectively.
The topic for Essay competition was "How to save Nambul Naga River".
Th Jackson, Langlen chanu and H Prasanjeet, all from HRD Academy bagged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize respectively.
Mr Gopen Moses, Kenilworth Yambem and the Volunteers for Manipur spoke on the theme of the day and succeeded in creating awareness about the environment and specifically on how to save our rivers which is our lives.
250 students participated in the three events.
It may be mentioned that the parents also took part in the interaction.
