Imphal, December 14 2008:
Purul Block Chairman and Secretary Union (PBCSU) and Thingba Union, Senapati district have said that the two organisations will not support the ongoing vehicle blockade in Senapati district called by Naga People's Organisation (NPO) demanding immediate transfer of DC Nidhi Kesharwani.
PBCSU said that the present DC is known in the district for her straight forward dealings having the credit of improving public distribution system in the district.
Maintaining that Maram Union has already disassociated from NPO regarding the agitation, a press release of PBCSU said that any agitation initiated on personal ground cannot be supported.
The union also said that the ongoing blockade will create inconvenience to the people on the eve of Christmas and will also hamper the implementation of ongoing developmental programmes in the district.
Thingba Union said that it does not find any fault or mal-administration on the part of the current DC.
The union also urged the NPO to reconsider its decision in the interest of the public.
