The visibly enraged students shouted various slogans like "Ensure our right to education", "Resign, Education Minister", "Don't play political games among students and teachers", "No need to keep colleges where students can't study" etc.
The students who have been denied education since September 27 were arrested by police.
Meanwhile, alleging that termination of part time lecturers was a step towards abolition of the Moirang College where there were 22 part time lecturers against 31 regular teachers, the Students' Union of the College have warned the State Government that they would launch strong agitation if their woes are not redressed immediately while adding that the Government would be held responsible for any untoward incident in the course of the agitation.
On the other hand, the Teachers' Welfare Association (TWA), DM College of Science has condemned termination of part time lecturers.
Asserting that termination part timers has seriously affected the academic atmosphere of the College, a statement issued by TWA appealed to the State Government to resolve the justified issue of part time lecturers at the earliest.
