Requisite official processes have been set into motion for the Rs 27.61 crore National Sports Academy which will be set up at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
In order to facilitate expeditious commencement of construction works for the proposed Academy, the 42nd meeting of Committee on Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources have discussed and made necessary recommendation to the DONER Ministry with the latter forwarding the same to Union Ministries of Urban Development and Youth Affairs & sports for 'techno-economic examination'.
An official source informed The Sangai Express that out of 58 project proposals for the 2006-07 fiscal submitted by the State Govt to DONER Ministry the NLPCR Committee recommended six projects including the proposed Academy for the 'techno-economic examination.
Compared to the proposed projects estimated to be around Rs 346.21 crores the six recommended projects is informed to be of Rs 74.67 crores.
Maintaining that State Govt had already completed its part of preparing and forwarding detail project report, the source listed development schemes concerning improvement of the 33 KV Willong sub-station, Moreh Town Water Supply System Improvement, augmentation of Tungjoy Water Supply, improvement of Jiri-Tipaimukh road and Tamenglong District Sports Complex as the other project proposals recommended by the Central Ministries for the techno-economic examination.
Ministry concerned is informed to have retained proposal for a Bishnupur district sports complex, according to the source.
on the otherhand, the source revealed of the DONER Ministry having released Rs 428.23 crore to the State govt out of a total of Rs 560.41 crore project proposals for 64 schemes.
of the total released amount, the state Govt has furnished utilisation certificate of Rs 344.61 crore with such requisite details yet to be placed for a total of Rs 83.61 crore.
Moreover, the state is yet to forward 'original' detail project report for seven schemes with 15 others awaiting necessary clearance owing to necessity for rectification in the report.
