No community should challenge another community or harbour any sense of malice, stated former Minister RV Mingthing at the 7th death anniversary function of late NK Sanajaoba.
The main features of the memorial function held at Lamyanba Shanglen, Palace Compound under the aegis of NK Sanajaoba Memorial Committee were offering of floral tributes to the photograph of Sanajaoba and presentation of speeches about the exploits of Sanajaoba.
Moreover, news reporters Laishram Shamungou and Soubam Bokuljaoba of The Sangai Express, N Nimonchand and Kshetri Meghajit of Naharolgi Thoudang and Sorenshangbam Sonia of Poknapham were felicitated with incentive awards at the
occasion.
Speaking at the function, RV Mingthing stated that Manipur is a land where different communities have co-existed in harmony since time immemorial.

But these days, serious conflicts have cropped up among different communities and one community is challenging another community.
One cannot think about development when the communities are embroiled in conflicts of different nature.
Pointing out that Meiteilon is the lingua franca for different communities of Manipur, Mingthing asserted that Meiteilon can be a strong binding force to build unity among different communities of the State.
The whole territory of Manipur irrespective of hills and valley belong to all the people of Manipur, he stated.
The function was presided by the NK Sanajaoba Memorial Observation Committee Chairman Lokendra Arambam.
Speaking at the occasion, social activist RK Ranendrajit hailed late Sanajaoba was a courageous journalist endowed with strong patriotic feelings and integrity.
It was in the Lamyanba daily edited by NK Sanajaoba which exposed all the shady dealings and corrupt practices of the Government without any fear or apprehension, Ranendrajit stated.
Had Lamyanba daily been in circulation till today, all the atrocities, and corrupt practices committed by the people against own people could have been exposed, he added.
Notably, the NK Sanajaoba Journalist Incentive Awards are being given to selected journalists biennially.
