MPP's RK Anand has urged the ruling front to take serious note of anti-AFSPA campaigner Irom Sharmila Chanu's prayer to the Government to relieve her from existence in case the draconian Act is not to be repealed all Presenting the matter during Zero Hour in today's assembly session, the Naoriya Pakhanglakpa legislator opined that State Government should no longer ignore the genuine outcry of Sharmila who had been fasting for the last seven years demanding total repealing of the AFSPA 1958. Describing as unjustifiable and ridiculous India - the world's largest democratic country still patronising the repressive law under which several lives have been exterminated under the pretext of law and order maintenance, RK Anand wondering what positive development the said Act had brought to the Manipuri society also desired that saving sharmila's life is more valuable than the AFSPA.
