Lamka, November 09 2011:
Five new cases of dengue were reported in Churachandpur even as the district health officials struggled to contain the disease almost a month after the presence of its virus was confirmed here.
Excel Diagnostic Centre reported that two blood samples they received on Sunday tested positive while all the three reports they received today from Babina Diagnostic Centre, Imphal were also found positive.
Meanwhile, the Chief Medical Officer yesterday urged all the philanthropic organisations of the district to extend co-operation and be involved in creating awareness on the virus that was detected for the first time in the district.
Stir to resume : A month after the CDSU and JPO suspended its agitation demanding adequate staff for the district hospital here, the organisations have decided to resume the stir from November 11 due to the alleged failure of the Government to fulfil the demand.
CDSU and JPO closed down all Government offices and banned all related activities in the district demanding adequate MO (specialist), full-fledged casualty, sufficient technical and non-technical staff and a separate power supply for the district hospital.
Failure on the part of the Government to fulfil the demand may result in similar agitation as the two bodies have announced closure of Government offices and all related programmes of the Government with effect from November 11 .
Moreover, CDSU and JPO have also announced their disapproval of the proposed inauguration of 25KV power plant at the hospital on November 11 as the installation has been completed only in the ground floor of one of the buildings.
All crucial wards, including the OPD, OT, Casualty and the administrative office have no connection to the solar line till date, it alleged.
