Imphal, October 09 2011:
The 120-hour Jiribam bandh called by Jiribam District Demand Committee (JDDC) evoked mixed response here today.
Although, shops remained closed and vehicles were off the roads, hundreds of empty trucks coming from Imphal passed through the Sub-division without any hiccup and headed towards Silchar and Guwahati.
Hundreds of Imphal bound goods laden trucks also passed through Jiribam and lined up at Tatbung village to wait for escort party.
22 AR troops, police commandos and Jiri police personnel remained vigilant during the bandh.
