Two villagers of Chongdan village under Kasom Khullen sub-division have been hospitalised after they were assaulted by some people at Chongdan Junction in the morning of August 4 at around 11 .
The victims have been identified as Thangmeishang Siro (35) s/o late Wungmario Siro and MC Chuimeishang (33) s/o late Maningtai.
The latter is said to be the secretary of Chongdan Village Authority.

They have been admitted to JN Hospital here with serious injuries all over their bodies including heads, eyes, hands and legs.
In connection with the incident, injured Thangmeishang Siro informed that on August 4 morning they were going toward Kasom Khullen to attend a meeting when a group of people led by one Khaphung Keishing (45) s/o Thoithaileng of Chongdan Junction assaulted them.
Though they were finally handed over to the representatives of women societies of Chongdan Village, Kasom Khulen and Khamlang Village at night, the assailants did not allow them (victims) to be taken to hospital at Imphal for treatment.
It was only yesterday morning that they came to Imphal and admitted to the JN Hospital.
A report had been lodged with the SP of Ukhrul in connection with the incident, but none of the assailants have been arrested so far, Thangmeishang added.
