Greeting the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, Governor Gurbachan Jagat has remarked that this is an occasion to promote goodwill and understanding amongst people of all castes, creeds and religions.
"Let the lights of Diwali dispel hostility, conflict, mistrust and disaffection among the people", the Governor said in his message.
Chief Minister O Ibobi has also conveyed his best wishes to the people of Manipur on the joyous occasion of Diwali.
Stating that Diwali is a festival symbolizing victory of good over evil, Ibobi called upon all to imbibe the ideals associated with this festival to foster the spirit of amity, harmony and goodwill.
Stating that the essence of Diwali lies in the victory of virtue over vice, MPCC president Gaikhangam prayed that this festival of light may bring peace and prosperity in Manipur.
BJP State president Sh Shantikumar has also greeted the people of Manipur on the twin occasion of Diwali and Ningol Chakkouba.
Lok Sabha MP T Meina has conveyed his warmest greetings to all the people of Manipur on the occasion of Ningol Chakkouba.
The All Rongmei Development Committee, Jiribam, in their Diwali greeting, wished that the festival of light may bring peace and brotherhood among the people of various communities of the State, reports our Jiribam correspondent.
