Imphal, August 04 2009:
With three more photographs, with compelling evidences that Chungkham Sanjit was killed by Police Commandos in a fake encounter at BT Road on July 23 surfacing, the bereaved family has decided to withhold solemnisation of the Shradha ceremony of the deceased until the punishment of the guilty police commandos.
''As a mother, I would definitely like to perform the Shradha of my son and we had even sent out the invitation cards.
But we have decided not to perform the Shradha ceremony until all the police commandos involved in the killing are given befitting punishment', said Chungkham Ongbi Inaotombi, mother of slain Sanjit, while talking to mediapersons today.

''We don't want any job offer or ex-gratia'', added Khelen, father of slain Sanjit, and asked how loss of human life could be compensated with money ? .
Convenor of the JAC, Thongram Anita, who was also present at the occasion, while releasing three new photographs related to the killing of Sanjit in the fake encounter, pointed out that in these three photographs there are no bullet holes in the shirt worn by Sanjit.
These three photographs as well as the ones already published by Tehelka are enough evidences for taking up necessary action against the police commandos without the need for any inquiry, she contended, adding that the identity of the guilty police commandos have been shown clearly in these photographs and how they committed the crime have been detailed in the report of Tehelka which was subsequently reproduced and flashed in the local media.
The JAC convenor further demanded that action should also be taken up against those responsible for the false and misleading placed on the floor of the Assembly.
All the guilty should be imprisoned in the jail for life so as to make them feel the pain being experienced by the people of Manipur, Anita said, while demanding the Government to take up necessary action within the next 2/3 days.
On the other hand, bereaved family members of Thokchom Rabina, who was also killed in the BT Road incident, have conveyed mediapersons that the Shradha ceremony which falls on August 9 would be performed as scheduled.
