Imphal, July 05 2009: The relay hunger strike of the Sharmila Kanba Lup (SAKAL) with "save Sharmila, repeal AFSPA" at the PDA Complex, Porompat has completed 208 day today, said a statement of issued by Convener of SAKAL, A K Janaki.

Around 50 members of Sawombung Paorabi Meira Paibi took part in the relay hunger strike today.

Convener of SAKAL, K Taruni, Member of SAKAL, Nongthombam Nupimacha and Secretary of the Sawombung Meira Paibi, Premila spoke on the occasion as resource persons.

The resource person expressed gratitude to all civil organizations, meira paibis, clubs, various NGOs and Sports persons for their support and participation in the hunger strike and requested them to take more role in the agitation in future in order to root out the brutal act of AFSPA completely from the state.

The relay hunger strike of Thoubal District which is also organized under SAKAL has completed 149 days today.

Around 50 members of Sora Maning Leikai Karangbi Meira Paibi staged at the relay hunger strike at Sora Bazaar said the statement.
