Imphal, June 30 2010:
Normalcy at New Market of the Imphal Khwairamband bazar was disturbed Wednesday when militants deposited a bomb at a pharmacy shop.
The bomb was found inside a polythene bag by an unknown person who entered into the Surjit Medical Store to buy medicine at about 10 am today.
A piece of paper written as "last warning" from MDF was also found at the salesmen desk of the shop indicating containing a bomb in the polythene bag that placed in the shop.
The bomb was later defused by a team of the state police bomb disposal squad and destroyed an open place in outskirt of Imphal city.
Decrying the act of threatening and causing panic to the people, shopkeepers and salesmen of the shops in the New Market down shuttered and staged a sit-in protest.
They urged the underground groups not to do the act which would amount to caused large scale casualty by placing bomb in the crowded area.
