Member of the Manipur Human Rights Commission, RK Rajendra yesterday said that instead of placing under suspension, the police personnel involved in the July 23 firing incident should be keep in the judicial custody and trial them.
He conveyed said this while visiting the wounded victims of the firing incident today at RIMS Hospital who are not getting any help from the government side till date.
The rights commission made the inquiry into the firing incident on received of a complaint.
Manipur Human Rights Commission taken up a case after the complaint was lodged by Chinglensana, husband of the victim Thokchom Rabina on July 31 last.
The commission has asked the police DGP to submit a detail report of the incident on or before August 17.The commission also handed over the case for investigation to its member RK Rajendra.
He is to submit the inquiry report on the same date.
The hearing of the case is scheduled on August 23 .
Rajendra further commented that while examining the bullets that hit to injure the victims, the injury marks are not seems to be caused by 9 mm.
Mention may be made the police had claimed that a 9 mm pistol recovered from the slain Sanjit.
During the visit, rights member recorded the statements of the injure victims.
Injured Binarani said informed that so far they did not get help from the government side.
