Imphal, October 13:
Citing 'certain' circumstances All Manipur die-in-harness Appointment Demand Committee had announced suspension of its economic blockade imposed on the National Highways 39 and 53 with immediate effect till October 16.However, the Committee's agitation would resume from October 17, said a release while cautioning all concerned, especially truck operators and owners, to honour the agitation in order to avoid undesired consequences.

On the otherhand, the district-wise bandh called by the All Manipur Muslim Organisations' Coordinating Committee ended with no report of any untoward incident in Imphal West district today.
A statement released by the Committee demanding reservation for Muslim candidates in pursuing academic pursuit and employment also claimed of its 24 hour bandh imposed in Imphal West district from midnight yesterday crippling normal activities as shops in the market area remained closed, vehicles stayed off the road besides negligible plying of private motors.
Conveying the Committee's preparedness to take the issue to its logical end, the Muslim body also asked owners of Tata Sumos servicing on the Imphal-Moreh route and Lilong-Imphal public carriers that suffered damages for defying today's bandh to clarify reasons, if any, for violating the agitation to the head office of AMMOCOC within three days.
The Committee also owed responsibility for damaging three Tata Sumos, two buses and same number of Tata trucks.
